Endoscopic gastroenterostomy

I was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor on my pancreas in 1998. Over the years, I have had several stent surgeries and bile duct bypass surgery in 2003. A couple of years ago, the tumor started to obstruct the opening between my stomach and my duodenum. A permanent stent was placed. In October 2015, that stent became obstructed and I went in to have a procedure to clear the stent. Unknown to me, Dr. Binmoeller had invented a device call the "axios" lumen-apposing stent and he created a connection between my stomach and the small intestine in order to bypass the obstruction in the duodenum. By performing this procedure called a "gastroenterostomy, Dr. Binmoeller was able to create the bypass without my having to undergo invasive surgery incisions or side-effects. After about a week, I was able to enjoy regular food and Thanksgiving with my family. This is not the first procedure Dr. Binmoeller has performed on me and I have always been very pleased with the results. This last procedure saved me from having major surgery. I have complete confidence in Dr. Binmoeller and his staff and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of endoscopic tests/procedures.
